Meet the team leading Point.
Eddie is the co-founder and CEO of Point. The concept for Point’s Home Equity Investment came to Eddie while he was attempting to refinance his home. Like millions of people, Eddie didn’t have any reportable income at the time - even though his startup had been acquired a few weeks prior - so he didn’t qualify for any conventional mortgage product. Recognizing that many other homeowners must find themselves in similar circumstances, Eddie and co-founder Eoin Matthews began working on Point. Point is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Westcap, Ribbit Capital, Redwood Trust, and Atalaya Capital Management. Before founding Point, Eddie was the co-founder of TrialPay (acquired by Visa), Yub (acquired by Coupons.com), Metails (acquired by Buy.com), and TXN (acquired by Envestnet). Eddie holds an AB in Computer Science from Harvard University. He lives in Menlo Park with his wife and four sons, proudly supporting the Golden State Warriors.
Eoin is the co-founder and Chief Business Officer at Point. His interest in home finance was born in 2011 when he invested in the down-payment funds for his friends, Jonny and Francesca, to buy their first home outside of Boston. When they sold the house in 2014 and the investment was paid off, it cemented his conviction in the potential for shared equity. Prior to Point, Eoin was on the founding team at Sendgrid (acquired by Twilio) and Metails (acquired by Buy.com). He was the VP of Business Development at Rakuten. Eoin holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Eoin lives in the Bay Area with his wife and daughter. Prior to becoming a co-founder at Point and a father, Eoin was enthusiastic about logic games and trail running. A carefree traveler, he has required medical treatment in at least five different countries

Elissa is the Chief Product Officer at Point. She leads the Product and Design teams responsible for building innovative, new ways for consumers to access the equity in their current and future homes. Elissa was one of Point’s earliest hires in 2015 and was here for Point’s very first equity investment. Before joining Point, Elissa was a product manager at Zillow, where she oversaw the product roadmap for Postlets, Zillow’s tools for landlords and property managers, across all platforms. Before Zillow, Elissa held various positions at Amazon, the Wall Street Journal, J.P. Morgan Chase, and QuinStreet. Elissa graduated from Harvard with an economics degree and an MBA from Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business. Elissa has a deep passion for personal finance even before her time at Point. Elissa taught teens the fundamentals of personal finance in New York City as a director of the non-profit Cents Ability. In her spare time, you can find Elissa spending time with her family and planning an off-the-beaten-path travel adventure.

Matt is the Chief Operating Officer of Point, overseeing all legal, regulatory, and compliance matters in addition to the operations and finance functions. Point intrigued Matt because of its unique intersection of finance, real estate, mortgage, and technology. He joined in 2016 to help with product development and growth in a highly regulated field. Before Point, Matt was Senior Counsel at SolarCity, an Elon Musk-founded company, where he managed various legal and compliance matters related to consumer finance. Matt has worked at a large international law firm as a prosecutor and law clerk to a federal judge. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA. You’ll find him in Belmont, California, on the sidelines during his free time, cheering on one of his four kids in the pool, on the pitch, or on a court.
