About the role

Point is seeking a Lead Product Designer on our Growth team—someone with a passion for understanding customers deeply, fine-tuning conversion levers, experimenting, and questioning assumptions. Home Equity Investments can be life-changing for our customers, but helping homeowners understand and trust a financial product that doesn’t behave like a traditional loan, and can’t be explained with a single rate or monthly payment, is an evergreen challenge. This role will have a unique impact on the overall success of Point, as you’ll design and iterate on the flows and interactions that influence whether homeowners move forward, drawing on customer interviews, product analytics, and A/B testing to build trust, reduce friction, and increase conversion.

Your responsibilities

  • Design and own top-of-the-funnel customer flows that shape how homeowners explore our product, understand it, and move forward.

  • Lead customer research through discovery interviews, usability testing, and surveys.

  • Partner on product analytics and experimentation to identify friction and hesitation, and design solutions that measurably improve conversion.

  • Design and iterate on AI-assisted experiences that help homeowners get answers and build confidence.

  • Influence what gets built by shaping product decisions and priorities.

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Data, and Content to drive alignment and execution.

  • Communicate design work and rationale clearly to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and navigating tradeoffs.

  • Contribute to a strong design team culture by refining how we work, sharing learnings, and making design impact visible across the organization.

About you

  • 5+ years of experience designing complex, consumer-facing digital products with clear ownership over outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently tackle ambiguous design problems.

  • Deep experience in user research, including discovery, synthesis, and applying insights to product decisions.

  • Proven track record of improving conversion and engagement through experimentation and iteration.

  • Strong judgment in balancing customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

  • Comfortable working with product analytics and experimentation to evaluate impact and guide design direction.

  • Able to influence product direction through clear thinking, strong craft, and well-communicated rationale.

  • Fluency in Figma and collaborative, iterative product design practices.

Nice to have:

  • Background in fintech or other regulated, trust-sensitive domains.

  • Experience integrating AI-assisted tools or agents into existing product flows and customer experiences.

Our benefits

  • Generous health benefits: We provide comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans with options for flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA).

  • Unlimited paid time off: Recharge with unlimited paid time off and 10 company holidays.

  • Flexible remote and onsite work: Our teams work from many different locations and time zones. We support fully remote work and also have an amazing in-person environment in our downtown Palo Alto, CA HQ.

  • Fully paid parental leave: Point will supplement state Paid Family Leave (PFL) so employees receive 100% of their regular base pay, plus two additional weeks of fully paid leave after state PFL ends. In states without PFL, Point offers up to 8 weeks of paid parental leave. In addition, employees also receive 4 weeks of fully paid transition time, during which you may work 2–3 days per week while receiving full base pay.

  • Equity: We offer meaningful equity because we believe in sharing the value you help create. Your contributions directly impact our growth, and your equity gives you a stake in our future success.

  • Financial wellness: We provide 401K retirement plans for employees as well as guaranteed life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage.

  • Extra work/life benefits: We provide monthly stipends for internet, mobile plans, wellness perks, and a one-time home office reimbursement.

Compensation at Point will be determined by skills, experience, and geographic location. Point has identified the expected annual base salary range for roles at this level based on market by tiers (Region | Location | Market Range):

  • Tier 1 | San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Los Angeles, & Seattle | $200,000 - $220,000
